Every boat taking part in racing, is required by the Racing Rules of Sailing to display unique number on their sail. Â In the UK, those numbers are issued by the Royal Yachting Association.
I applied for a Sail Number yesterday morning, and the RYA being efficient organisation that it is means that today I can tell you that Ellipsis’ sail number is: GBR 768M.
I have paid the entry fee for the race and there are only 80 days to get Ellipsis to the start line. Â Lots to do, but I’m sure we’ll make it. Â In the mean time, here’s a photo of me sailing in past the needles from a trip to Poole.
